Founded in 1973, Ram Caroline Sha & Syah (formerly known as RamRais & Partners) began as a modest general practice law firm, with its partners handling a broad spectrum of legal matters with dedication and commitment.

The firm was established by three founding partners: Mr. Hariram Jayaram, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Utama Dr. Rais bin Yatim, and Mr. Yap Choi Ken. Shortly after its formation, Tan Sri Dr. Rais Yatim and Mr. Yap Choi Ken departed to pursue other professional opportunities. Mr. Hariram Jayaram—affectionately known as “Mr. Ram”—continued to lead the firm, laying the foundation for what it has become today.

Over more than four decades, Ram Caroline Sha & Syah has grown to be widely recognised as one of Malaysia’s leading law firms, particularly in the areas of Intellectual Property, General Litigation, and Conveyancing.

Today, the firm is led by Managing Partner Mrs. Caroline Francis, alongside partners Ms. W.A. Shashila, Mr. Syahredzan Johan,  Ms. Anita Kaur Gerewal and Ms Amanda Wong.
